Senior Pastor

Antioch Missionary Baptist Church

A Call to Pastoral Excellence in the Heart of Hills Prairie

Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, a historic “Legacy of Faith” congregation in the Hills Prairie community of Bastrop, Texas, is seeking a visionary Senior Pastor to lead its 160-year-old ministry into a new era of growth. Organized in 1865, the church seeks a leader to modernize operations and revitalize key departments, including youth and music ministries, while honoring its deep community roots. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary teacher, delivering biblically sound and electrifying sermons that apply the Word to daily life, and act as the Lead Pastor overseeing all church operations and staff. This role requires providing executive direction while empowering department heads, the Board of Deacons, and other ministry leaders through effective delegation.

Beyond pulpit leadership, the Senior Pastor will be responsible for expanding the church’s digital footprint and establishing a clear leadership succession plan to ensure stability for future generations. A strong focus on pastoral care is essential, including a “ministry of presence” for the sick and shut-in, as well as active engagement with the Bastrop Sub-District and St. John’s Association. Qualified applicants must be ordained or licensed ministers in good standing with 5–10 years of experience as a Senior Pastor. Candidates should have a proven track record of church growth, community involvement, and administrative leadership, and must provide two professional or ministerial letters of recommendation.
