Primary Duties:

The Staff Minister of Christian Education is responsible to the Pastor for the total educational Church program in planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive Christian education ministry to achieve the mission of the Church.

Position Requirements Education

-A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in religion or theological studies is required.

-Master of Biblical Studies/Theology/Theological Studies, Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) degree is preferred.

-Experience – Minimum 3+ years of related experience in Christian Education Leadership

Full Job Description

·      Support and implement the Pastor’s education philosophy and policies.

·      Directly oversee the Christian Education Director, Sunday School Superintendent

·      Be responsible for starting small groups

·      Keep the pastor informed on important matters.

· Work to develop, implement, and promote a program of Christian education to lead persons to the knowledge and acceptance of the Christian faith and life; to help them to cultivate their spiritual gifts, to train them to carry out special functions of Christian ministry, and to motivate them to Christian living and service.

· Help to promote and implement our present program of Christian Education, including new member orientation, and offer fresh guidance for new programs when necessary.

·      Teach classes and help coordinate and lead seminars of teacher training and certifications, etc.

·      Approve teaching curriculum and materials for Sunday school, Wednesday Bible Study, Children’s Church and other activities of the Church’s education program.

·      Help supervise the work of the Sunday school, the Wednesday noon and night Bible Classes, and the teaching ministry of other departments including Vacation Bible School, etc.

·      Teach Wednesday noon and night Bible Study as directed by the Pastor

·      Establish an Evangelism & Discipleship Plan for the church in consultation with the Senior Pastor

·      Help in promoting the Ministry for Single Adults in the life of the Church

·      Approve conferences, seminars and workshops for Christian Education Workers.

·      Chair Christian Education Committee.

·      Coordinate with the Communications Director & Media Team for Christian Education & Discipleship Events.

·      Preach and counsel as requested by the Pastor.

·      Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor.

·      Submit to continuing education by attending workshops & seminars as determined
