Israel Baptist Church of Baltimore City is prayerfully seeking an exceptional full-time Senior Pastor to lead a historic, Christ-centered congregation into its next chapter of faithful ministry and impactful witness. Founded in 1891, Israel Baptist has served as a spiritual anchor in East Baltimore for more than a century, with a rich legacy of biblical preaching, discipleship, pastoral care, and community engagement. Following the retirement of its longtime pastor after nearly fifty years of visionary leadership, the church now seeks a shepherd who can honor its strong foundation while leading with clarity, wisdom, and spiritual courage into the future.

This opportunity calls for a pastor who demonstrates a clear call from God, theological depth, strong biblical preaching and teaching, relational maturity, and the capacity to lead both spiritually and administratively. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of senior-level pastoral experience, hold at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, and be licensed and ordained within the Baptist denomination. Applicants must meet the biblical qualifications outlined in I Timothy 3:1–7 and demonstrate integrity, humility, and sound moral character.

The successful candidate will be expected to preach and teach with conviction, provide consistent pastoral care, guide ministry leaders and church leadership collaboratively, cast vision for congregational growth, and strengthen the church’s longstanding commitment to serving both congregation and community. Experience in officiating weddings, funerals, baptisms, counseling, visitation, and church administration is essential. A willingness to reside in or reasonably near Baltimore City is required to ensure pastoral presence and accessibility.
